Moving In
Due to the blessings of our Lama and the immense support of our very kind sponsors, Kechara Media and Publications has just received confirmation from their loan agent for the loan of their new premises in Sunwaymas Commercial Centre, just a few doors down from KH2. We have received a loan of up to RM600,000!
KMP is the first of the Kechara branches to have secured their own building. This has been made possible due to the unwavering faith and dedication of both KMP staff and their sponsors, who have strongly believed in their success and committed making it work.
All of us in the Kechara family congratulate them, and hope that this will inspire all our other departments to expand as much as they have and find equal success! Thank you to everyone for your huge support. KMP have already begun speaking to an interior designer and will commence renovations soon. Stay tuned for updates of their progress!
Finding Enlightenment on a bookshelf
KMP's books are extending their reach to bring H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's teachings further in bookstores around KL. Now, KMP books are also available in mag@zing by Times Bookstore at The Gardens, MidValley, a premier shopping centre right in the heart of the Klang Valley. This situates Rinpoche's teachings in one of the most prestigious shopping malls in the country, bringing the Dharma to people from all walks of life.
Check out our books at their newest home at mag@zing, LG floor, The Gardens (near the eateries).
KMP storms the bookshelves
In celebration of Wesak, Times Bookstores - one of Malaysia's big chain bookstores - are offering a publisher's special, highlighting all of KMP's English and Chinese books. A 20% discount is offered on all KMP products; Times members receive 25%!
In the spirit of giving, Times is also very generously donating 10% of all proceeds from sales of KMP books towards Kechara Soup Kitchen. Please do go along to support KMP and KSK by getting your books directly from Times this month.
Impressive and prominent displays in the centre of the largest branches (in Bangsar Shopping Centre and Pavilion) greet shoppers as they enter the book store. Times have done gorgeous arrangements and have helped us greatly to promote Rinpoche's teachings among local readers, bringing Dharma to all corners of Malaysia. Thank you Times!
Be Greedy.... it gets you places!
The sales and marketing team in Kechara Media and Publications (KMP) have really been out and about to get us places! On top of having our books in all major bookstores, KMP books will now also be available in independent booksellers and newsstands across the country.
Our Chinese books, Be Greedy and the Setrap book have already been spotted in newsstands around the Klang Valley.
All KMP’s English and Chinese books will eventually go out all over Malaysia, through these smaller but very popular avenues.
Let's make Rinpoche and his teachings famous!
KMP's English chief editor, Jamie "Paris" Khoo has written an article about Rinpoche's latest book, If not now, when? which is published today (Sunday 23 March) in Starmag, The Star newspaper. Do get a copy to read!

4. Even the other booth volunteers are drawn to us
WHY, YOU ASK??? Because we have our own, very own Tara and Dzambala... aka Paris and Sean...

Visit
to France, Oct 2006
HH Gaden Tripa Lungrik Namgyal
Rinpoche is the current holder to the throne of 'Tushita', the
supreme head of the Gelug lineage. The major monasteries - Gaden,
Drepung and Sera, as well as the famous Tantric colleges of
Gyuto and Gyumed, all belong to the school of Gelug. His status
is the same as Lama Tsongkhapa on earth. View

Fundraising events
As KMP is just starting up, we aim to organise regular fundraising
events to raise funds needed for publications and DVDs. This is
with the hope that we can raise enough money to help support the
initial costs, until KMP is fully self-sustaining through the sales
of its books. All proceeds from fundraising events go either towards
the production of Dharma, the support of Dharma activities within
our centre and, ultimately, towards supporting the monastic community
in Gaden Monastery.
Garage Sale, 2nd September 2006
Our first garage sale and food fiesta at Sharon and Susan’s
home on September 2nd kickstarted our fundraising projects, raising
more funds than we had anticipated, and putting us in good standing.
Plenty of food was dished out during the day, knick knacks bought
to cheer up happy shoppers and socialising done over Sharon’s
dining table. KMP even had its own little corner during the event,
to showcase DVDs and publications, and to speak to the public about
our work. What we were most impressed with was the generosity of
people – so many of our friends pitched in to help out, and
guests were ever-ready to donate towards the event and to KMP’s
work. |
